Hello,

My car Espace Quadra 1992 2,2 Gasoline J637

I need rear view mirror's schmatic. Right mirror not move.. ( moving Motors are good.

Merhaba, Sağ ve sol aynaların elektrik şemasına ihtiyacım var. Sağ ayne aşağı-yukarı hareket ediyor, sol-sağa hareket etmiyor. Motorlar sağlam, doğrudan 12 Volt verince sağasola, aşağı yukarı hareket ediyor. Problem Ayna kontrol modülünde veya devresinde..
Forumunuzdan tahmininizden çok faydalanıyorum. Her şey için teşekkürler..

Hello Helmut, Many thanks for interests,, but I don't need new mirror. My right Mirror ( glass and motors ) is ok, But electrical problem, not move left-right. move to up-down is ok.

Left mirror is all ok. ..

Hi Atila,
welcome on the board of Espace friends!

First of all I have moved your thread to our international section. I like to have some life here as well as you can guess that all people reading and writing in this section are familiar with English. Wink

As I have currently no scanner next to my PC I can only describe the wiring, but it's comparable simple especially as your left mirror motor works.

There is a central connection of both from the fuse plate to the controller next to the drivers door. The 12+ cable is first connected to the controller knob, which obviously works fine for you, as you have no problems with the left mirror. From the knob two wires (one for right/left, one for up/down) lead to the switch (driver/passenger mirror), which moves two contacts between drivers and passengers side: for up/down and right/left.
So first possible fault is this switch, if it only connects one of the two contacts for the passengers side.

From this unit a 3 wire cable (right/left, up/down and ground) directly leads to the mirror - so if the mirror motor works fine the only other fault reason can be a cable or contact problem on this way.

I'd start removing the controller unit and check, if it works fine if you connect the outgoing wires of the passenger side with the mirror on the driver side. If they do you need to check or replace the wiring.

The cable colors are according to both my 11993 and 995 wiring diagram as follows:
mirror driver side:
right/left: violet
up/down: white
ground: green/white

passenger side:
right/left: orange/white
up/down: brown
ground: green/white

Please be advised that this may be wrong from Renault as the association of the shown cables to the switch in the controller is different then on the mirror side - but I don't know if the "mix up" happenend "inside the controller" (then everything you find fits to the colors above) or on the cables (then the colors would be switched for one mirror between up/down and right/left).

First, rotary switch is ok, no problem.

Right mirror's cables color:

mono Purple is common, purple plus green and blue moving cables. for up/down mowes, I measure 12 Volt, but side to side moved, no 12V


I need, which relay command to right mirror and where? relay's number or location..

I have electrical schemas for espace, but it only shows the rear window and rear mirror's heater system..

Thank you again, I'm using this car for two years. an old but very nice 4x4 car, perfect for families for all seasons, The winter season is very nice with my Quadra.. Smile

I benefited a lot from your page and I benefited a lot from Mbarak's page. My big problem, my english is not good.

Hi Atila,
your English IS GOOD, no doubt!

The bad news: There is no relay. At least no in the wiring.

There is one 12V cable from the fuse plate to the mirror controller unit, one ground cable from whereever (I don't have the plan in front of me now), but no relay.

Did you remove the controller unit and check if it works fine?
Should be easy, it's only clipped into the dashboard.
Even if you cannot remove it that way: Remove left speaker cover, then you have a screw that holds the upper front part of the dashboard. I think you can remove it by pulling towards yourself, if I remember right. Then you can access the controller wiring.

I think it's either a cable or the right/left switch in the controller unit.

I think, rotary switch is good working, I measured, any position of rotary switch, two pair contact is connect.

For example ( rotary switch's contacts)


1 2 3 4
null 5 6 7

for Right mirror
When left turn
connected
1-2
6-7

when right turn
connected
1-6
2-4

For left mirror:
When left turn
connected
1-6
2-7
when right turn
connected
1-2
6-7

These numbers have only left-right moving, Not up-down moving..

Then after, I checked rotary wsitch's wire's color.
not have purple with blue or green strip. ( these cables are connected right mirror) Please check the picture in my first message.

I think, rotary switch is command the control box, and mirrors are connected control box. Where is the control box?

You want to tell me, controller unit is rotary switch or another box??

Yeesssss... playing with cable colors is a preferred game at Renault - and even more at Matra. On the other hand... you don't know if the mirror has been replaced once by one with other cable colors. However - as the switch was obviously working it could only be an cable issue!
